What is it?
RMSF is a serious illness caused by bacteria called Rickettsia rickettsii, spread through the bite of infected ticks ๐ท๏ธ.
How do you get it?
- Tick bites during outdoor activities like hiking, camping, or gardening ๐ฒ๐ฅพ
- Ticks latch onto skin and transmit the bacteria
Symptoms ๐ท
- High fever ๐ก๏ธ
- Severe headache ๐ค
- Muscle aches ๐ช
- Rash (usually starts as small spots and spreads) ๐ถ๏ธ๐ฉธ
- Nausea and vomiting ๐คข
- Confusion or irritability ๐ง

If untreated, RMSF can cause serious complications like damage to organs (heart, kidneys) and can be fatal โ ๏ธ.

- Diagnosed by symptoms, history of tick exposure, and blood tests ๐ฉธ
- Treated with antibiotics (usually doxycycline) ๐
