Rhinitis is inflammation of the nasal mucous membranes, causing symptoms like sneezing, runny nose, congestion, and itching.


🧬 Types:

  1. Allergic Rhinitis:
    • Triggered by allergens like pollen, dust mites, pet dander
    • Commonly seasonal (hay fever) or perennial (year-round)
  2. Non-Allergic Rhinitis:
    • Caused by irritants such as smoke, strong odors, weather changes
    • Includes vasomotor rhinitis and occupational rhinitis
  3. Infectious Rhinitis:
    • Due to viral or bacterial infections (common cold)

  • Sneezing

  • Runny nose (clear or colored mucus)

  • Sometimes headaches or facial pressure
